Brief description of staff positions:
Please keep in mind that these are overall, brief descriptions of our staff positions. With our Lovewell workshops, it is hard to pin points exact descriptions because each workshop depends on the specific, unique skills of every single person involved.  Maybe you are a fantastic choreographer who also happens to design and sew costumes.  Wonderful!  All of our staff positions are loosely defined in order to be open to whatever the artist who is filling that position brings to the collaboration. Our main goal is to hire creative, open minded, positive artists that want to joyfully collaborate and always find a way around every challenge. Simply tell us what position OR positions (if there is more than one, please be clear) that you feel you could best fill. Also, please note that our policy is that you must first intern on a program in order to be hired as a staff member if you do not have 3 years of professional experience under your belt. This means that all college aged applicants must first intern. Some artists may be offered more than one year as an intern due to training as well as availability of positions.

Director:  Manage the creative process with the students and staff; keep the entire process on schedule; oversee every department; report to the Artistic Director and Company Manager; guide the students through creating a piece of theatre; stage the production; manage all aspects of the production: rehearsal, technical, performance; Give the piece an overall continuous feel by bridging the design, the writing, the staging, the music and the choreography; be a solid, positive, understanding leader to the entire creative team by maintaining a ‘we’ and ‘us’ attitude while constantly problem solving.

(If you feel you cannot fulfill this duty, please let us know in advance.)
Full time for duration of the workshop

Script Editor: Guide the students through the art of creating and writing a cohesive theatrical production;  keep an eye on the overall structure of the show and be sure it fits together; create an outline of the show asap; keep the script formatted and up to date daily; write a synopsis of the show for the media; insert full lists of the writers of the piece into the script; put together character and plot information for the program; deliver the full script electronically to Lovewell Artistic Director at the end of the workshop.

Intern:  As an intern you will have the opportunity to work hands on with the students and will provide assistance to the entire staff throughout the process. This means that you should be prepared to run creative exercises, help with tech, run errands, be on run crew back stage, etc. By doing so, you will get a good overview of the entire process and at the end of the workshop, should feel well trained in the Lovewell Method.
