Jumping Jesper’s AMAZING work day at Lovewell Sweden
Of course, all days here at Lovewell Sweden are amazing but this was AMAZING.
After some great dance and vocal warm ups our awesome choreographer Jesse, who joined us this weekend, had us all sing our opening number standing in a circle holding hands, eyes closed. It was a really powerful and moving experience.
I think it was just the thing I needed. It made me connect emotionally to the story we’re telling in a way I honestly hadn’t done previously. After this I was super excited to continue to write our show! And write we did =)
We worked intensely on our family scene the whole day. It’s a long musical number written in Swedish combining a ”Cabarét-style” comedy song about retirement homes with a rocking family drama one. Aiming towards ”the best rock chorus ever” as Nippe stated before we started out, we couldn’t possibly fail. It turned out fantastic!
Although it’s been a long day, my work day ended around nine when I and Helene finished the English translation of said scene, it has swept by really fast. I don’t want it to end.
Life here in Oskarshamn is great. We’re having the best of times, while working and at nights! We’ve had a fantastic ”Battle of the Bands”, played some action-packed games of no rule soccer, been confused by the weird washing machines, been to Hemköp about a thousand times and started creating a show that will be fantastic!
That’s all from Jesper, formerly known as the Turtle, now as Brita’s husband and some sort of doctor person, who will be created in the following days when we dive into the writing of the second act =)

Cast of Daybreak- Lovewell Sweden performed your song!
Lovewell Sweden was invited to perform at a public concert in a church this first week of our workshop. Because we have not written much of our show yet, we learned songs from other Lovewell shows around the world. The clip below is the cast of Lovewell Sweden 2009 performing “We’re Still Here” from Daybreak: The musical documentary of John Delaney.” It was truly magical to sit in that church and watch students from Finland, Sweden and the U.S. sing a song that was written half way around the world using the same process we are doing right now- a true sign of our very vibrant cultural community.
They also performed “Intended to Shine” along with Four Real- song by Nils-Petter Ankarblom

Hallå från Sara!
This is Sara and this is my second year of Lovewell Sweden. It’s the first day and it’s been fantastic so far. Today we’ve been to Forum where we’re going to perform, and we’ve also played a lot of awesome games. It was such an amazing feeling to see everybody again and to meet all the new people! The high light of the day was when I saw that my door to my and my roomie Elin’s room was full of ballons. The people that came here before us (most of the people from Skåne) had put all the balloons on the door because it was my birthday today. I had a supergreat birthday and I’m so happy that I’m back here at Lovewell!
